New York's Bathhouse Makes Bold Nashville Debut in Transforming Wedgewood-Houston District

(Coming Soon to Wedgewood Village)

In a significant expansion move, New York-based Bathhouse is bringing its unique "anti-spa spa experience" to Nashville, marking its first venture outside the Big Apple. The company, known for its distinctive approach to wellness and relaxation, has secured a substantial 40,000-square-foot space in the rapidly evolving Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, signaling confidence in Nashville's growing luxury wellness market.

The new location, situated near the historic Merritt Mansion, will offer an extensive suite of amenities. Plans include four thermal pools, three saunas, comprehensive massage services, and locker facilities, complemented by a food and beverage program. A notable feature of the development is its significant outdoor component, with 12,000 square feet dedicated to open-air amenities. The facility will operate on a flexible access model, offering both membership options and day passes to accommodate various customer preferences.

This expansion is part of a larger transformation story in Wedgewood-Houston, spearheaded by AJ Capital Partners over the past nine years. The developer has been methodically converting this formerly industrial area into a vibrant artistic and cultural hub. The arrival of Bathhouse adds to an impressive roster of high-end establishments in the area, including Soho House, Pastis, and Hermès, further cementing the neighborhood's status as a premium destination.

Bathhouse co-founder Travis Talmadge pointed to the neighborhood's careful curation and unique character as key factors in selecting this location. This sentiment is echoed by AJ Capital's president Eric Hassberger, who emphasized their commitment to preserving Wedgewood-Houston's historic character while fostering an authentic community atmosphere.

The development is part of AJ Capital's broader Wedgewood Village project, which spans 18 acres and includes the relocation of the historic Merritt Mansion, as well as the construction of new office spaces and a music venue. Bathhouse's arrival represents another significant milestone in the area's ongoing transformation from industrial district to cultural destination.

This strategic expansion not only marks a new chapter for Bathhouse, which currently operates locations in Flatiron and Williamsburg, but also reinforces Nashville's growing appeal as a market for premium wellness and lifestyle brands. The development promises to add a distinctive element to Nashville's evolving urban landscape, blending luxury wellness services with community-focused spaces in one of the city's most dynamic neighborhoods.
